How to Judge Geographic Location of Chinese Visitors

- Baidu tongji, china ip, chinese ip, Google Analytics
If you are familiar with Google Analytics, you can easily judge one visitor’s IP and infer where he/she comes from.
For Chinese visitors, this tactic may not work in some cases, due to the China Great Firewall.
As one Chinese visitor visit your website, his/her IP may be outside China, while he/she is actually inside China. Some Chinese use VPN to access those websites outside of China.
If you use Baidu Tongji, equivalent to Google Analytics, you will find that the Chinese visitor’s IP is different in your Baidu Tongji and Google Analytics, though it’s the same one person at all.
Why is this happening?
This is because he/she uses a smart connection when using a VPN service, and he/she only uses a VPN connection when visiting those websites outside China.
Which IP is the real one in the case?
The IP shown in Baidu Tongji is the real IP of one Chinese visitor. The Geographic location corresponding to this IP is its real location.
